This hotel was built 1962 and was recently taken over by a new owner who is pursuing a new flag for the hotel, Home2 Suites, an all-suite brand of extended stay hotels.

AHSa was tasked with the designing the first Home2 Suites in the Mid-Atlantic area and updating the building up to current code standards which included installing a new sprinkler system and meeting code for egress stair pressurization. Through their detailed planning and design AHSa was able to transform the hotel into the new brand model while the building was fully operational and occupied.  AHSa incorporated Baltimore City Green building standards at the 2-star level, and was able to reuse 10% of the existing walls to create all new guests suites.
